TET Notification 2022 will be released on the official website. Candidates must check the official notification before applying. The notification has all the important details like eligibility criteria, exam date, syllabus, exam pattern, application fees, etc. TET is mandatory for becoming a government teacher in India.


TET Notification 2022: Eligibility Criteria

The TET eligibility criteria vary from state to state but the basic criteria remain the same. Below is the list of eligibility criteria for the TET that an applicant needs to match before going for the TET exam in 2022:
  • The candidate should have passed class 12th with at least 45% marks.
  • Candidates should have done a Diploma in Education or B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) or have completed other prescribed teacher training programs/courses.
  • Candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • There is no upper age limit for CTET and various TET exams.

TET Notification 2022: Exam Pattern

The teacher eligibility test consists of 2 papers i.e. Paper 1 and Paper 2. Generally, paper 1 is conducted for teaching in classes 1 to 5 and Paper 2 is for teaching in classes 6 to 8. On the basis of subjects the TET question paper varies. However, the TET exam consists of 150 multiple choice questions within 150 minutes (two and a half hours).

TET Notification 2022: Validity of Certificate

The TET eligibility certificate is issued to candidates who pass the exam. The TET certificate is now permanent. In June 2021, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) extended the validity of the TET certificate to a lifetime. Candidates who have passed the TET exam and received their certificate can now apply for teacher recruitment till they meet the school's eligibility requirements.
