Journey of Sir IAS Deepak Rawat:
During this time, the Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat narrated his entire success story. He said, "I was born in Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, but I hail from Rudraprayag, which is a small place where there were limited career perspectives. People in Uttarakhand are very passionate about preparing for the army. My parents wanted me to go to Dehradun for coaching, but I had a disagreement with them, as I wanted to go to Delhi. So, I went to Delhi and graduated in History Honors from Hansraj College. Then, I took the entrance exam for Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and did my MA and M.Phil in History from JNU. I also started my UPSC preparation from JNU itself. I cleared the prelims in the first attempt, but the numbers were quite low in history in the main result. Later on, I passed the civil service exam and became an IRS officer while working in customs. During this process, I made the final attempt for the civil service exam, and since then, I have been in the Uttarakhand cadre. I told them that if I did not pass the UPSC, I would keep the career in the media sector as a B-plan".

When technology came into people's hands, they were not using social media as much.
Initially, people were mainly using it to find old friends or to stay connected.
When I was living in Dehradun, seeing the positive response to things available on the internet, I started using social media.
By the time I became the District Magistrate in Haridwar, the reach of social media had increased significantly.
Keep Mobile Phones Away From Children: Advised to Parents
IAS Deepak Rawat advised parents to keep children away from the addiction to mobile phones and suggested that there should be restrictions on parents themselves for using mobile phones. Many times, parents themselves give their children mobile phones to use so that they don't bother them. He said that children should focus on outdoor games instead of mobile phones. While mobile phones are an empowering tool, they also have the potential to distract attention. He urged all parents to make time for their children. Mobile phones should not control our lives; we should control our lives. Children prefer playing in the mud rather than playing with mobile phones. People should allocate time for their children and allow them to use mobile phones only after a certain age.
