The Reserve Bank of India Services Board conducts RBI Grade B Exam every year to recruit suitable candidates for the post of Grade B officers in RBI. This is a highly revered exam as there is a good salary that is paid and also it has a reputed job profile.

RBI has released the notification for recruitment to the posts of RBI Grade B officers. The notification was released as an advertisment. RBI has invited candidates to apply for 322 posts of Officers. It is a golden opportunity for candidates who are aspiring to work with RBI at a highly reputed post.

The important dates for RBI Grade B 2021 Exam are as follows:

RBI Grade B 2021 Exam Eligibility
The eligibility criterai for RBI Grade B 2021 Exam is as follows:
  • Nationality: Candidate must be a citizen of India or must be a subject of Nepal or must be a subject of Bhutan or must be a Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st                              Janaury, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African                                countries  of Kenya, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of                  permanently settling in India shall also be eligible.
  • Age Limit: Candidate should be between 21 to 30 years of age (both ages included). However there are also relaxation of  certain number of years which is provided to candidates belonging to different categories as follows:

  • Educational Qualifications:

Officers in Grade 'B' (DR)-General Minimum aggregate of 60% marks (50% in case of SC/ST/PwD candidates) in Bachelor's Degree as well as in 12th and 10th standard Board Examinations
Officers in Grade 'B' (DR)-DEPR A Master's Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute OR

PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR

Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute.

Officers in Grade 'B' (DR)-DSIM A Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years OR
 Master's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute; OR

M.Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters / years OR

Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years.


RBI Grade B 2021 Exam Pattern

RBI Grade B Exam consists of three phases:
  • Phase-I Exam-Preliminary Exam
  • Phase-II Exam-Mains Exam
  • Interview
Candidates need to clear all the three phases to be finally selected to work with RBI.

RBI Grade B 2021 Preliminary Exam Pattern
The preliminary exam is an objective exam which is of 200 marks and the time duration for the exam is 2 hours. There are four sections in the exam which are as follows:

RBI Grade B 2021 Mains Exam Pattern
The candidates who qualify the preliminary exam appear for the mains exam. This exam consists of three papers out of which only English is a descriptive paper. Each paper is of 100 marks.

RBI Grade B Exam 2021 Interview
Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of the marks they obtain in Phase-I and Phase-II Exam and thereafter, are called for the Interview. Interview carries 50 marks.

RBI Grade B Exam 2021-Application Process
Interested candidates can apply for this exam from 28th January, 2021 to 15th February, 2021 on the official website of RBI.
The Application fee is Rs. 850 for candidates belonging to General and OBC category and Rs. 100 for candidates belonging to SC/ST and PwD categories.
