REET Exam 2018 Introduction

Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (RBSC) has been entrusted with the sole duty of organising the Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) in the state of Rajasthan. Interested and eligible candidates who wish to teach in Classes 1-8 are required to appear for Paper I or/ and Paper II of the REET followed by an Interview to qualify as Primary and Upper Primary Level Teachers.

REET Exam 2018 Notification

Conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan (RBSE), Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers (REET) is held every year. This test qualifies candidates for the post of Primary and Upper Primary Level Teachers in the state of Rajasthan. The official notification for REET 2018 is to be released shortly. However, once the notification is released candidates are requested to apply online for the same. Candidates would have to sit for a written examination for paper I or / and paper II followed by an Interview Round to qualify the REET Exam.

REET Exam 2018 Application Process

Interested and Eligible candidates who want to apply for Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers, need to follow the instuctions to successfully send in their registrtaion forms.

  • Candidates are required to log in to the official website and click on the ‘Apply Online’ tab for REET Registration.
  • Candidates would be further redirected to the online Application Form, which the candidate would have to fill in with all the details.
  • The candidate registering for the examination would also be required to upload scanned copies of his Photograph and Signature within the specified size provided.
  • Lastly, the candidate is required to pay the application fee via e-challan or debit card/credit card method to complete his application process.
  • The confirmation page which would be generated once the payment has been successfully made must be printed for future reference.

REET Exam 2018 Application Fee

Interested and eligible candidates would be required to pay a fee for their application. This is often referred to as the application fee. The application fee for 2018 has not been declared yet, however, given past notifications we can simply come to a conclusion that the value of the application could be fixed at

  • Candidates Applying for Either Paper I or Paper II – Rs. 550
  • Candidates Applying for Both Paper I and Paper II – Rs. 750

REET Exam Pattern 2018

Interested and eligible candidates who apply for REET are required to go through a written examination followed by an Interview. The written Examination has two papers, Paper I and Paper II. Candidates who wish to teach in Classes 1-5 are required to appear for Paper I and are called Primary Teachers. Candidates who wish to teach in Classes 6-8 are required to appear for Paper II of the written examination. 

A candidate can decide to sit for both Paper I and Paper II of the REET Examination. The REET Examination for both Paper I and Paper II are held on the same day. While one paper is held before lunch during the morning shift, the second paper is held after lunch, called the afternoon shift. The REET written examination paper will have multiple choice questions, each carrying one mark with four alternatives. There will be no negative marking. There will be two papers of the RTET exam:

REET Paper I
Candidates are required to attempt 150 objectives multiple choice questions comprising of five sections. The total duration of the paper is 150 minutes.

REET Paper II
Candidates are required to attempt 150 objectives multiple choice questions comprising of five sections. The total duration of the paper is 150 minutes. This section would be made up of four Sections: Section - I, II & III of 30 question each and Section IV is for 60 Questions. Candidates would be required to attempt all sections and there is no negative marking in the paper. For both the papers the Language I has to be different from Language II. In Paper II, candidates are required to choose from Science & Mathematics OR Social Science as their optional subject.

Eligibility Criteria REET Exam 2018

For Primary Teachers posts, the Candidates are required to clear
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education/

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)* 

OR

Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)

For Upper Primary Teachers Candidates are required to be
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed).

OR

Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

OR

Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/appearing in final year of 4- year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

OR

Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education).

Admit Card REET Exam 2018

REET 2018 Admit Card would be made available 30 days prior to the date of the written examination. Candidates can download their respective Admit Cards from the official website. Candidates should keep in mind that the Admit Card is mandatory for appearing in the examination and strictly not transferable. Admission to the examination venue would be cancelled if any candidate is found without his/her REET 2018 Admit Card.

Result REET Exam 2018

REET 2018 results are expected roughly 60 days after the date of the examination held. REET Scores would be valid for a certain period of years which would be decided by the Board from the date of result declaration. Candidates who qualify will be further called for the interview round.
