INMO Exam Pattern 2022-2023: There are 6 six descriptive Mathematics questions in the INMO exam that are to be completed in four hours. Each question carries 17 marks and 102 marks in total.
The exam goes on for four hours, and candidates are expected to attempt all the questions. INMO is the abbreviation for Indian National Mathematical Olympiad. It is the third phase of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) program conducted by the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE). Candidates who qualify for the Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO) become eligible for the INMO exam. Around 900 students clear the RMO exam every year. However, only 35 students are selected for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad to move on to the next level. These students are then offered Training at the International Mathematical Olympiad Training Centre (IMOTC) for the next phases. 6 students are selected based on various tests in the camp to represent India on the International forum in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) program. INMO Exam Pattern 2022-2023 

Candidates from Classes 8-12 are eligible for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad. However, they need to qualify for the RMO exam and should be from a recognized educational board like CBSE, ICSE, and other state boards.  

The INMO exam consists of six descriptive mathematical questions. These questions carry 17 marks each, making the total marks 102. Candidates are expected to attempt all the questions and submit the OMR sheet along with the rough work at the end of the examination. The Exam goes on for four hours. INMO syllabus includes the Mathematics curriculum from Classes 8-12. 
 

INMO Eligibility Criteria 2022-2023

Following are the Eligibility Criteria for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad-
  • Candidates should be of 28 years before they fill out the INMO application form.
  • Candidates selected for the Indian National Mathematical olympiad are shortlisted on the basis of their Performance in the second phase of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) i.e., Regional Mathematical Olympiad (RMO). 
  • A maximum of 28 students from classes 8, 9  10, and 11, and 6 students from Class 12 are selected for the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO).
