RMO 2022 Exam Dates
Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) organizes the Mathematical Olympiad Program under the authority of the Department of Atomic Energy’s National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM). Candidates belonging to a recognized educational board like CBSE, ICSE, and other state boards and studying from Classes 8-12 are eligible for the RMO exam. However, they need to qualify for the Pre RMO exam first before they move on to the Regional Mathematical Olympiad exam.The RMO exam is generally conducted in December. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic precautions, the organizing body has postponed the exam date, and aren’t declared yet. Candidates should keep checking the official website of Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE) for recent updates. HBCSE has preferred 25 regions around the country to prepare and pick the best candidates for the Mathematical Olympiad Program. The students should practice the sample papers and previous year’s question papers to prepare well for the exam. Once you qualify for the RMO exam, you can move on to the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad (INMO).
The conducting body will ensure the safety of students while conducting the exam. The RMO exam date 2022-2023 is expected to be declared as soon as the Pre RMO exam results will be released.

Candidates must go through the RMO Syllabus and prepare well for the exam in order to move to INMO and subsequently to the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Moreover, they should also be well familiar with the exam pattern. Students who successfully clear for the International Mathematical Olympiad will be awarded gold, silver, and bronze medal along with a cash prize of Rs. 5000, Rs. 4000, and Rs. 3000.
RMO 2022 Exam Pattern
Students should be well familiar with the RMO Exam Pattern 2022-2023 so that they can perform well in the exam and secure good marks. There will be 6 descriptive mathematical questions carrying 17 marks each. The RMO exam goes on for 3 hours. The first 30 candidates from Classes 8, 9, 10, and 11 and 6 students from Class 12 are chosen for INMO. The rest 45 students are awarded a merit certificate for INMO.The selected students get a chance to become a part of the INMO Training camp for around 30 days. Considering the talent of students based on numerous tests in the camp, a team of 6 students is selected for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).
