Regarding the Program
The Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science & Technology (Government of India), is offering academic researchers between the ages of 40 and 50 the SERB Science and Technology Award for Research (SERB-STAR) 2022–23 opportunity. The fellowship aims to honor and reward Principal Investigators (PIs) of SERB programs for their exceptional work. National Overseas Scholarship for ST 2022-23
Regarding the Program
Post-doctoral, Ph.D., and master's degree holders have the chance to apply for the National Overseas Scholarship for ST 2022–2023 through the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment (Government of India). - There will be a total of 20 awards authorized for ST students per year. The candidates will get financial support in the ways listed below:
- Annual maintenance allowance: The annual maintenance allowance for all levels of courses covered by the program is US$15,400 ($15,400 only) in US dollars and UK£9,900 ($9,900 only) in pounds sterling. The US Dollar or similar rates will apply to all other nations.
- Annual contingency and equipment allowance - The annual contingency and equipment allowance of USD 1,532 for US candidates and GBP 1,116 for UK candidates will be awarded for books, necessary equipment, study trips, typing, and binding of theses, etc. US dollars or similar rates will apply to all other nations.
Other perks - Where applicable, the actual political tax will be paid.
- Indian rupees will be used to pay the actual visa fees.

Selection Standards
- The screening committee will shortlist candidates for the scholarship based on the following process: All applications submitted within the allotted time will be presented to them for consideration. The shortlisted applicants will then be contacted for an interview.
- Following the interview, a merit list will be created based on the Selection Committee's evaluation of each applicant.
- Note: If there is a tie between two or more candidates, the candidate with the oldest birthdate will be given preference over the others. This preference will be based on the date of birth listed on the Secondary School Certificate.
- On the ministry's website, call letters for qualified candidates will be posted.
Terms and Conditions
- Any discipline's bachelor-level courses are not covered by the program.
- After the course/research is finished or the following period, whichever comes first, financial aid will be given. -
- One and a half years for postdoctoral research
- Ph.D. - four years
- Master's degree: 1/2 to 3 years, depending on how long the course is.
- The prizes for any given year will be interchangeable back and forth between these categories if the successful applicants are not readily available to the extent required for any of the designated categories for that year.
- Six awards, or 30% of the total, are designated for female recipients. However, if the designated places go unfilled, boys will take their place.
- The contender will be the only one whose costs and travel are strictly paid by the award.
- Candidates who already have an admissions offer or preliminary letter will be given preference. Those who have passed the GRE, GMAT, TOFEL, etc., and have begun applying to different colleges will receive second priority, followed by other applicants.
- The scope of the program has been expanded to include only the chosen individuals who choose to pursue higher education in the designated fields. The award recipient's employment opportunities after earning the award are not covered in any way by the system.
- The ministry's online application platform accepts direct applications from people who are already employed. However, the ministry must get a recommendation and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer within 15 days before the deadline for submitting applications online as stated in the scheme's advertisement for those persons' applications to be considered acceptable.
- Within two years after the date of selection notification, the finalized candidates must enroll in and attend an approved university or institution overseas. The award will be immediately terminated and annulled when this allotted period has passed. The system does not permit requests for time extensions to use the reward.
- Except with the previous written consent of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the candidate is not permitted to alter the study or research project for which a scholarship has been approved.
- The candidates will pay their employer directly for all administrative expenses like study leave, wages, etc. under the policies of the serving organization. This ministry won't accept any liability or offer support in this area.
- The Ministry shall have the right to exclude the awardee from the punishment clause of "Defaulter under the Scheme" if the awardee is unable to complete the course or if the Guide/Head of the Department of the candidate certifies that the candidate is not paying attention. In such circumstances, the Indian Missions will offer the quickest route and economy class for the return flight to India.
Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search Senior Scholarship Test (JBNSTS) 2022
The Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS), an autonomous registered society supported by the Government of West Bengal, has launched the Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search Junior Scholarship Test 2022. The program supports the growth of imaginative undergraduate students majoring in basic sciences, engineering, or medicine in West Bengal-registered universities. It wants to conserve scientific expertise to meet the nation's need for science and technology professionals. The chosen candidates will receive INR 4,000 per month and an INR 5,000 annual book grant for 4 or 5 years (until they have earned their B.Tech., B.E., MBBS, BS- MS, or M.Sc. degree).
Eligibility
To be qualified, a candidate must:
- Being an Indian citizen who passed the Higher Secondary or a comparable exam in 2022. (i.e, current year)
- Be enrolled in a West Bengal-registered institution for undergraduate study of B.Sc. (Hons. ), engineering, or medicine.
- Students who completed high school or an equivalent exam before 2022 are ineligible to apply.
