Eligibility Criteria for Applying SSC GD: 


To apply for the SSC GD exam, you must meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • Age

You must be between 18 and 23 years old. There are age relaxations for reserved categories. 

  • Education

You must have passed the 10th standard (Matriculation) from a recognized board or university.

  • Nationality

You must be an Indian citizen or as specified in the notification.

  • Physical standards

Separate physical standards are set for male and female candidates. For example, male candidates must have a height of 170 cm and a chest size of 80 cm. Female candidates must be 157 cm in height.

  • Other documents required for the SSC GD form include: 

  1. Mark sheet and admit card of class 10th.

  2. Aadhaar card or Aadhaar enrollment number.

Salary of SSC GD:

  • The salary of a Staff Selection Commission (SSC) General Duty (GD) Constable ranges from INR 3,00,000 to INR 6,00,000 per annum. 
  • The starting wage for a General Duty Constable is Rs. 23,527 per month, with a base pay range of Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100. 
  •  This includes Basic Pay, Grade Pay, Allowances, and other benefits. 
  • After the 7th Pay Commission, the monthly SSC GD salary is Rs. 33,965, which includes allowances and additional pay, excluding deductions. 

Selected candidates are also eligible for a number of allowances, including: 

  • House Rent Allowance (HRA)
  • Dearness Allowance
  • City Compensation Allowance
  • Detachment Allowance
