Introduction

The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test organized by the Uttar Pradesh Education Board (UPBEB) is conducted for candidates seeking to be appointed as teachers in government-run schools.

Notification

Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB), Government of Uttar Pradesh has announced notification for conducting the Uttar Pradesh State Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2018 to select Teachers for Classes I-V (Primary Level), Classes VI-VIII (Upper Primary Level).

Application Process

Candidates will be selected on the basis of the performance in the written examination of Paper I & Paper II. 

Application Fee

General/ OBC Candidates would have to pay Rs. 400/- (only Paper I or II) and SC/ ST candidates would have to pay Rs 200/- (only Paper I or II). Application Fees can be paid through E-challan/ SBI Internet banking/ Debit cards/ other bank Internet Banking methods.

Vacancy Details

Since the official notification for UP TET 2018 is not released yet, hence, we do not have the exact number of vacancies that aspirants can expect. However, once the notification for UP TET 2018 is released aspirants would be aware of the vacancy details for the same.

Exam Pattern

UP-TET is based on the National Curriculum Framework in which graduates, including B.A, B.Sc, and B.Com etc are eligible to take the test. To be appointed as a teacher, all B. Ed. Graduates need to pass the written exam. TET consists of two papers, Paper I and Paper II. Paper I – is conducted for aspirants opting for selection to class I to V and Paper II – is conducted for aspirants opting for selection to class VI to VIII.  If a candidate wants to apply for Class 1 to 8 he will have to qualify both the papers. Generally, the UPBEB conducts the exam for Paper-II in the morning session (9.30 am to 12.00 noon) and Paper-I exam in the evening session (2.00 pm to 4.30 pm). The duration of the exam is 2.30 hours.

Eligibility Criteria

For Classes I-V (Primary Level): Candidates should possess Degree from UGC recognized University with 02 years B.T.C (Final year & Passed out candidates)/ N.C.T.E./ 02 years Diploma (D.Ed.) from Indian Rehabilitation Center (R.C.I.)/ Intermediate with minimum 50% of marks/ its equivalent with 04 years Degree (Final year & Passed out candidates) in Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

For Classes VI-VIII (Upper Primary Level): Candidates should possess Degree from UGC recognized University/ 02 years B.T.C. (Final year & Passed out candidates) from N.C.T.E./ Intermediate with minimum 50% of marks/ its equivalent & 04 years Degree (Final year & Passed out candidates) in Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) Intermediate or equivalent, BA/ B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/ B.Sc.Ed from NCTE/ UG recognized Institute or Degree in Relevant discipline and B.Ed.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website upbasiceduboard.gov.in from October 2018.

Admit Card

UPTET 2018 Admit Card will be issued 15 days prior to the date of examination. The candidates can download admit card from UPTET official website.
