UPSC CAPF Exam Introduction
Conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, the Central Army Police Force (CAPF) Examination 2019 is being organised for Assistant Commandants posts in BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB and ITBP. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released a notification for the recruitment of Assistant Commandants (Group A) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) viz. Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force(CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The notification was released on 25 April, 2019. Interested and eligible candidates can apply only through the online method from 25 April 2019 to 21 May 2019 on the official website of UPSC. The written examination for the same will be held on 12 August 2019.
UPSC CAPF Exam 2019 Application Process
(a)Candidates are required to apply online only by using the website www.upsconline.nic.in.
(b)Candidates will be required to complete the Online Application Form containing two stages viz. PartI and Part-II as per the instructions available in the above mentioned site through drop down menus.
(c)Before filling up of Online Application, a candidate must have his/her photograph and signature duly scanned in the .jpg format in such a manner that each file should not exceed 40 KB and must not be less than 3 KB in size for the photograph and 1 KB for the signature.
UPSC CAPF Exam 2019 Application Fee
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card.

UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern 2019
The UPSC CAPF 2019 is a 3-staged recruitment process, including:
Written Test (2 Papers).
Physical Standard Test.
The written test for UPSC CAPF 2018 recruitment includes 2 Papers:
Paper I: General Ability & Intelligence (Objective Type)
Paper II: General Studies, Essay & Comprehension (Descriptive Type)
Candidates must score minimum essential marks in Paper I in order to have their Paper II checked.
Paper I – General Ability and Intelligence
Paper I will be Objective-Type test with 2 hours duration. It will carry 250 marks.
A total of 125 questions will be asked each carrying 2 marks. Negative marking of 1/3rd marks will be made for wrong answers.
Paper II – General Studies, Essay and Comprehension
Paper II is a descriptive type 3-hours long test with a total of 200 marks. The test will have 7 questions in total.
Upon clearing the written papers, candidates will be called for Physical Tests.
After qualifying the physical tests, candidates will be called for Interview or Personality Test carrying a total of 150 marks.
UPSC CAPF Exam Syllabus 2019
Syllabus for Paper I:
Questions will be asked from following topics:
General Mental Ability.
Current Events of National and International Importance.
Indian Polity and Economy.
History of India.
Indian and World Geography.
Syllabus for Paper II
Part A (80 Marks): Essay Writing (either Hindi or English).
Part B (120 marks): English Language test.
UPSC CAPF Exam 2019 Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have a bachelor degree from any recognized university in any discipline. Candidates appearing for the examination in 2019 are also eligible to apply for the examination unless the age of the candidates should not be less than 20 years and should not exceed 25 years as on 2nd August 2019.
